This week we studied about adversarial search strategies. This is the search strategy where it involves the search to calculate the outcomes of games such as tic tac toe and backgammon.

We learned about the outcomes of deterministic games such as tic tac toe or chess and also non-deterministic games such as backgammon, in which they have chance nodes. In order to calculate, we learned about the minimax function to find the outcome. We are also given 3 exercises to practise our knowledge upon this material.

This week, in opposition to the week before, we studied about informed search strategies. These search strategies uses heuristic values into account when counting the path cost. We learned about A* Algorithm and also Genetic Algorithm, where we studied about search algorithms based on the concept of natural selection and genetics. Furthermore, we also learned about hill climbing where it involves searching its neighbors and find out the optimal result.

This week we studied about uninformed search. There are a lot of types, including: BFS, DFS, FLS, UCS, and IDS. Breadth First Search and Depth First Search were just a review as we had learnt that subject before, whereas the other three search strategies were completely new to us.

These uninformed search strategies had different results and also different optimal results for each search. Therefore, we learned a lot of the different uninformed search strategies. We were also given an exercise to practise the uninformed search strategies.

During this first week and first meeting, we were introduced about what is AI and machine learning. A video about AI and machine learning and its differences was showed to the class. We are often confused upon what is AI and what is machine learning.

After the video, now I understand what are AI and Machine Learning respectively. It turns out that AI is to help humans’ life become easier and more practical, whereas Machine Learning is how AI is trained and became “smarter” so that AI can think like a human does.

There are a lot of factors and environment that affects the “learning” of the AI. It must know what environment they are in and what is the purpose of them, so that they are capable of helping humans and solving problem.

My contribution for this project is that I design the database and provide back-end for our project to link PHP file and MySQL Database. I made the MySQL queries and also checked if the user interface on PHP had any errors.

Project Name : Database System for Celebrity Fitness

Problem Description:

Celebrity Fitness has a lot of branch, staffs, personal trainers and its members. It still lacks modern integration where its members is only recorded on one branch, and not interconnected with each branch. The problem is that if a member wants to come to a different branch, they must contact the branch for a confirmation. Hence, we decided to integrate the member system into a database, so that a contact is no needed between branches and they can automatically verify if a member is inside the system.

How to Play:

This is a platformer game, similar to games such as Mario Bros. In order to play this game, you just need to use the arrow keys: arrow up to jump, arrow left to walk left and arrow right to walk right. The goal is to collect 3 keys each level in order to complete the level, and collect coins to as the score. There are 3 lives, if you hit a spikey or flying alien, you will lose 1 live. Use all 3 lives and game over, or if you fell down it is also game over. Complete until level 4 and you finished the game. Moreover, you can reset the levels by pressing the button on the top right of the main menu screen.

• Left arrow to walk left
• Right arrow to walk right
• Up arrow to jump

Contributions for this project:

My contribution of this project is making level 4 and the ending credits scene, which is shown after you finished, and the level selection menu. I also diagnosed and checked the project if there is any errors or bugs.

My team members and I made a Final Project entitled “The Adventure of Potato Head” for Construct 2 Multimedia and Human Interactions Final Project. This game is based on a man who has a head that is shaped like a potato and he was lost in an unknown planet full of creatures of that planet. He needs to save his life thus he went on an adventure to escape from that planet.

This game is based on Construct 2 Scirra, where it has 4 different themed levels and different difficulties. Every levels also have score, counted by collecting coins. To finish each level, you need to collect all 3 keys on each level, to open the final door at the end of the level. You can go to the next level after you complete each level. You are given 3 lives to complete each level, where it will be full of creatures that cannot be killed. Hence, you need to be careful while playing as there are also many traps ahead. Once the live drop to zero, you will instantly lose the level and you can restart the level.
